Census 2021 is coming

Census Day is Sunday 21 March 2021.

This weekend the national campaign will formally launch, followed by all households receiving notification of the census towards the end of February.

Households will receive their 'Census Unique Access Code' in the first week of March and they can immediately complete their questionnaire online. Paper questionnaires can be requested by those not online.

Due to lockdown, the hub may be needed to support members of our community who are isolating or shielding. There will be a 'Census Support Line' which will be fully operational through and beyond March, however we are in a good place to support our community if they do not wish to use the support line. If you are interested in supporting our community with the 2021 census please let Nikki Moon know.

Vaccine Rollout

The vaccine rollout in South Warwickshire is going very well with all areas set to meet the target of offering a first vaccination to all over 70s and the clinically extremely vulnerable.  If you are aware of anyone in these categories who have not yet received their vaccination please encourage them to contact their GP surgery to book into a local vaccine clinic.  Information about the vaccines can be found here if you know people who require more information before accepting their appointment. Also videos about the vaccines can be accessed here.

Safeguarding and DBS Checks

As the hub is now constituted as a charitable community organisation we have been able to ensure all our volunteers and trustees are covered by the hub insurance policy.  However the insurance policy is only valid if volunteers, who interact with clients either over the telephone or face to face, have had a DBS check, two references submitted and attended a short safeguarding training session.

A huge thank you to all who have so far submitted references and applied for their DBS check. Claire Udell is working hard to ensure all volunteers have been offered a DBS check so please do take up the offer if you have not already done so.

Details of dates for a 90 minute online safeguarding training session will be sent to you shortly, or go to the WCAVA training page to register to complete one of these training sessions and let Claire Udell know once you have completed it.  Thank you for assisting the hub to meet all safeguarding criteria.

PPE for Hub Volunteers
